And Now I'm Committed to Reading Book Porn

Guys. I just read the synopsis of Ricochet (the book that won this month's Book Review Drawing). This is why I should probably do my research before the drawing! I was all "Oh! Exciting! A book called Ricochet! I'm so excited to read it!" and then I found out that it's in the same family  of 50 Shades of Gray.

This is embarrassing. Confession? I'm a bit of a prude.

This is what I get for not wanting to read 50 Shades. In a weird way, Gumby and John Hamm have won now.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against the idea of sexual writing. Go for it! But I'm too pure for this! I'm just a simple Christian girl who, until recently, couldn't say or hear the word "masturbation" without giggling. How do you expect me to make it through this?:

"When the right dom is all wrong! Even in a BDSM universe, where everyone is bisexual and identifies as dom or sub, finding the right partner isn’t always easy. Matt is a big star on the hit TV show, Collar Crime, and he’s looking for a dom who ticks all the right boxes, including being as tidy and organized as himself. That definitely isn’t his chaotic co-star, Rick, with his spanking fetish and habit of tying a different sub to his bed every night. When Matt meets the perfect dom he’s swept off his feet, but he soon discovers that being pursued by a handsome, controlling billionaire isn’t the erotic fantasy he’d imagined. Maybe the right dom for him is the one he thought was all wrong..." (Taken from the book's Goodreads page)

I can't even make it through that blurb without blushing!!!! All that BDSM and dom talk is way more than I can handle.

But now I'm committed. I told you all that I would never turn down a book unless it was too difficult to obtain or if it was like.. The Anarchist's Cookbook. And admittedly, I'm actually kind of excited (not in that way) to see if I can do this. You're all probably laughing or rolling your eyes at me right now, but I'm only being honest.

And I want to clarify something: none of this stuff offends me! I'm just of the more innocent variety...

AND to make matters even more awkward, none of my local libraries even carry this book! I have to order it from the bookshop WHERE I WORK!!! My boss is so judging me right now... I should have taken a picture of the order slip that I filled out, but I totally didn't think to. On it I wrote "Please don't judge me! It's for my book review blog!!"

Well... The book arrives tomorrow. This can only be an enlightening experience. And I have to admit, it's gonna make for a great book review post on May 1st.

Thank you to Kellie for suggesting it. (NOT SARCASM) You have officially made April my most interesting month of the year so far.
